The question
ELYRA studies a possible local architecture in which state, memory, resources, sensors and actions depend on one another. It is not a chatbot and the planned kernel contains no LLM. The goal is to subject the system’s organisation to causal, falsifiable tests.
The vision
Three connected but non-interchangeable challenges. Each requires a real mechanism and a separate test.

Acquired memory, persistent identity and development that changes behaviour without depending on a prompt.
A global field of integration is one hypothesis, not an answer. Competing theories and perturbations must be able to falsify it.
This is the programme direction · none of the three properties is claimed as achieved today.
A language model generates tokens from learned patterns. The ELYRA programme instead targets a persistent local process with internal state, shared constraints, acquired memory, sensors and actions. This is not a claim of superiority: it is a different research question.
If future gates were passed, this line of work could contribute to more transparent and persistent local systems, adaptive agents whose actions have real consequences, and new tools for studying cognition and embodiment without relying on language alone. These are conditional possibilities, not product promises.
The project name, complexity, runtime, behaviour or a visualisation cannot assign an outcome. Negative, invalid, inconclusive and not-established outcomes remain permitted and publishable results.
